So it's been a few days...

Forgive me y'all! We have had some friends in town and we were just BUSY!

On Thursday evening our friends Brian, Donna and their sweet baby Alexis Ann arrived at our home. It was SO good to see them! You see, Will and Alexis were side by side for a short while in the NICU. She was such a TINY thing in her little isolet and they placed her right next to the BIG man on campus (at that time Will was in the 8-9 pound range).

As soon as my husband walked through the doors of the NICU and saw her isolet covered in NY Giants and NY Yankees stuff, he prohibited me from becoming friends with these folks. Fortunately I had much better since than to NOT talk to someone over their football choices. Donna and I became quick friends. And Brian isn't too bad either. ;)

Anyhow, they arrived here on Thursday evening after a LONG drive from Nashville. Trust me with an infant, that is a looooooong drive!! And they even got to stay until Monday morning. We had loads of fun taking Alexis to the beach. She LOVED it and Will screamed. That seems to be the normal thing for him when it comes to sand.

On Saturday, we drove down to Virginia Beach and visited the aquarium. It was ok. Though being with great friends made it better. The only reason I say it was just "ok" is that in comparison to the Ripley's Aquarium in Gatlinburg, it's NOTHING! I know beggars cannot be choosers, but I will take Gatlinburg ANY day! Later that evening we adults got the chance to play some put-put with out the kiddos!

The ladies (and all three kids) spent Sunday shopping. The guys headed to the museum here on post and then did a tour of post. I cannot wait to see some of the pictures form that! We hung out here at the house that evening due to rain. Ok and being plum wore out!

Monday morning they loaded up the car and headed out. We do miss them and cannot wait until we see them again. Hopefully we can arrange something this fall in...Gatlinburg?? Maybe, just maybe! :)

  1. LeAnn--You are the greatest friend-EVER! I am so glad that we have become friends and maybe just maybe that is the whole reasoning behind Will and Alexis being in the NICU. You and Mike are wonderful and are great hosts. Gatlinburg sounds awesome for this fall--I am saving my money now! Love ya girl and give the kids a big hug for me!
