Well here is Morgans FIRST ever science project! We had three weeks to do this and naturally we waited until the last night!! They had to make a flower and label the parts. The catch was everything had to be recyclable. I think that is just awesome!! So here is what we did. We took our three weeks thinking and collecting recyclables. You could either mount everything on poster board OR make a 3D model. Being to over achiever that Morgan (and I) seem to be, we chose a 3D model!!
Our "pot" is a Gator aide bottle cut in half. Inside of that is a mayo jar. We used a sprite can cut into strips for our "roots" and cardboard box as our "dirt." For our "leaves" we used a 1 liter bottle of Mountain Dew. Talk about hyping up some folks getting that one down!! Our "stem" is a metal hanger covered in (of all things) oxygen tubing!!!! I knew that would come in useful at some point in our lives, ha ha. Our "flower" was the most fun thing to do EVER! We had a ton of magazines sitting around, so Morgan and I went decoupage CRAZY! It is all types of mixed papers.
We had SO much fun doing this. I look forward to MANY more school projects in our future. And when Morgan gets old enough to do them herself, it is Will's turn to do the fun elementary school projects! :)
I hope you all have a great weekend. Till then.
