Sorry it's been so long

Have you missed me??? I bet not. I bet you all have been as insanely busy as we have been.

This past week I started a new job. It's retail and it is a COMPLETELY different world than what I am used to. Not that it is easy by any means, just different. I think I am going to like it, eventually.

My parents also came up for the 4Th. On Friday we just really hung out here at the house. Saturday morning we all had a great breakfast. Mom and I took the kids with us. We took Colonial Parkway through Historic Yorktown, then on to Williamsburg and finally Jamestown. We eventually made it back here to town for a good lunch at Cheddars. Amazingly, we all agreed we should have stopped at the cheese fries,we were SO full!! We came back tot the house and Will decided that a nap was a waste of time. Though he did get a small one in the car.

While Mom and I enjoyed the farmers market and a lot of the Historic things the area has to offer, Mike and Dad took in the joy's of a gun show. Now, seriously, if you know my father, you feel sorry for my husband. I was SURE we were going to beat them home by a few hours. Somehow, Mike pulled it off and they were home the same time we were. They seemed to have a great day. I am so glad they did.

Morgan wanted to go see fireworks SO bad. I don't blame her, what 7yr old doesn't?? However, with Mom and Will both getting over some nasty upper respiratory junk it was better for all to just stay put. Plus the fact that when we drove through Yorktown at 10am it was already PACKED for the evening!! Not my idea of a grand ol' time. So we enjoyed our steak and taters here at the house. We even enjoyed some Dairy Queen Blizzards afterwards. It wasn't fireworks and watermelon, but it was a great 4Th for us! We got to spend it together with family. And we got to beat the heat with a sweet treat while watching fireworks on TV in the comfy A/C.

Sunday morning we took my parents to our FAVORITE little breakfast place here. Our sweet waitress was just as delightful as ever. She spoils Mike like crazy. In fact the entire staff seems to just adore him. He must have them completely fooled! Morgan put her name on the picture she colored and maybe it made it to the wall. After breakfast it was time for Mom and Dad to hit the road.

We really enjoyed having them and we miss them greatly already! I hope they can make it back sometime soon.

Later on Sunday we picked up picture frames for the pictures of the kids we had made back in April/May. They are SOOOO awesome and I cannot wait to show them to you all. Tricia is just SO amazingly talented and once she has her site up, I will surely be linking to it ALL the time!!

On Monday, we all took a walk. It ended up being almost 4 miles. It felt great to get back into walking as a family. We converted Wills crib into a toddler bed and boy has that been a wild little ride!! However, things seem to be leveling off a bit. I had work that night so I took a small nap.

I really have enjoyed being with my family these past few days. I miss being able to go and do things with my Mom whenever I feel like it. And I miss talking to my Daddy. My kids LOVE them to bits. Morgan likes to snuggle and Will gives random kisses. My parents just adore Mike. He is such a charmer, he must have them fooled. We do enjoy their company and (again) hope they can make it back sometime soon.

Have a great Tuesday all. We have speech in a little bit and then off to work I go.
